In the foothills outside Mariposa on the way to Yosemite..
A cute, very quiet, newly rebuilt cottage in Mariposa hillside with all new furniture, bedding, kitchen appliances, etc.
Popular with visitors to Yosemite via main or south gates since 2017.
Your own private small, but cute, brand new two bedroom cottage on a big piece of property. All bedding, linens, cutlery and crockery, stove, microwave and big fridge etc.
Extremely quiet except for bird sounds as we are set back from the road. And sometimes the neighbors chickens or some wild turkeys. The cottage is the last building on the property, so it is very private and secure for your outdoor activities.
Max occupancy 4 + infant.
Over 10 acres to roam and explore. Or read a book under the big oak tree or picnic down by the creek.
Pets welcome too but property is not fenced. Do expect to see deer, quail, wild turkey, etc.
And of course, fast Wifi and Smart streaming TV. Big cedar and oak trees provide lots of shade in Summer, plus there is A/C for any really sweltering day. In winter there is central heating.
Make this your own special home away from home.
Only $120-140 per night.
Plus 13% Tourist Tax for the county.
Includes gas barbeque and a fully-equipped kitchen and free great local coffee.
See Availability for dates and more details.
Yes the cottage is small. But super comfy and the grounds are very large. All for less than you would pay for anything in the park or town.
Very safe and private.
Owner on Site
Owner lives in nearby house on site to handle any of your needs or questions. The ultimate in personal service as we only have one guest house to manage. Plus we have been visiting Yosemite for over 35 years - I remember carrying a baby in backpack through a snowy meadow one winter. So do ask for advice on where to go and what to see. It changes by season.
House has full washer and dryer, but who wants to do laundry on vacation, even if it is free?
And wait till you see the view. Or hike down to a picnic spot by the lake or river or the adjacent winery. And of course, eat outside under the trees on one of the decks.
Mariposa is the last real Central California town before Yosemite National Park's main west gate entrance via Highway 140. This is also best known as the all year round gate regardless of winter snow as it feeds straight into the valley floor without going over any 6000ft (2000m) peaks.
Adjacent to Butterfly Creek Winery, the biggest and best winery in the Sierra Foothills. Just wander down the lane and enjoy some good no fee tasting. Maybe even picnic by their river as a change from our creek.
Room to Roam
Explore our trails, picnic at spots by the river, dream about what the pond could be, or simply sit under a big oak tree with your book or guitar.
Relax on one of the decks to watch the sunset views and wait for a magnificent clear sky for star gazing.
